Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been praised by Alan Shearer, who says he “loves watching” the Reds forward.

The Premier League legend mentioned Salah while talking about attacking players’ shooting style.

Shearer was a heavy hitter in his playing days, really putting his foot through the ball.

Meanwhile, the £34million Liverpool ace usually opts to place the ball into the net rather than going for power.

In The Athletic, a fan asked Shearer how come the technique of “walloping the ball” isn’t seen as much any more.

“I’m not sure that’s true,” replied the England legend.

“That was my style, but I didn’t do it all the time.

“I look at Kane and he can certainly do it; some of his penalties are whipped.

“Ronaldo has no problem smashing a free kick.

“I’ve written before about there being less reliance on the traditional centre-forward in the modern game.

“And someone like Salah often places his shots. It works! I love watching him.”

Salah has been sensational for most of his time at Anfield, but this season he’s been reaching stratospheric levels.

The Egypt international has a staggering 22 goals and nine assists from just 24 Reds games in all competitions.

He has delivered in big games too, against the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United.

Liverpool remain fighting on four fronts and Salah is likely to have a huge say in bringing silverware back to Anfield.
