Ian Wright has heaped praise on Bukayo Saka ahead of tonight’s Europa League clash with Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic.
The former striker was speaking about the talented Gunners starlet on the latest episode of Wrighty’s House Podcast.
Saka has been one of the Premier League’s top performing youngsters during 2020/21 and he’s set for a bright future.
The 19-year-old has bagged six goals and claimed seven assists during the current campaign from 37 appearances.
Saka has also earned England recognition and on current form, he could find himself heading to the European Championships this summer.
Wright has been mightily impressed with the Arsenal talent but hopes he doesn’t become burnt out under the weight of expectation.
He told Wrighty’s House Podcast: “I love him. I feel for him because of the weight of responsibility. I watched him the other day at Sheffield United and it was one of the first times I saw signs of frustration. People weren’t giving him the ball where he needs it.
“His face was a little bit contorted. That’s what Arsenal have got to be careful of now.
“Saka is a talent that we need to nurture and make sure we get that right. You see little things in his face and I hope he’s okay because that’s where frustration can start to seep in.”
TBR View: Arsenal must build around Saka
As usual, Wright is absolutely spot on when it comes to one of his opinion on Arsenal.
The club he holds dear to his heart has to get the best out of Saka and must ensure that he doesn’t grow frustrated.
In order to do that the club would be wise to add some real quality in the summer to take some of the weight away from Saka’s shoulders.
The youngster will relish each and every game he plays but with better players around him, he can relax and not worry about doing it all on his own.
Arteta must continue working with Saka and adding some real quality in the summer can help develop him further.
