Matt Doherty says he loves life at Tottenham after scoring in their thumping 4-0 win over Crystal Palace last night.

Doherty netted the third goal of the game as Spurs ran riot in the second half at Selhurst Park to get back on track.

Sky Sports journalist Lyall Taylor claimed in the days before the game that Spurs were open to offers for the £15 million man.

But Doherty told told Spurs Play that he is enjoying life in north London and nights like last night are what he wants more of.

Doherty says he loves life at Tottenham

Doherty said: “Look, I love being here. I want to contribute as much as I can.

“Tottenham is a huge club and nights like tonight where you go away from home and win 4-0 like that and contribute with a goal and a clean sheet, that’s what we’re here for.

“That’s why you want to play the game.”

Speaking to Last Word on Spurs, Thomas had said: “There would be open to offers for Matt. They were open to offers in the summer.

“He has not quite done it at Tottenham, I don’t think he has hit the potential that they thought they would.

“It is definitely an area of concern for Conte, because he doesn’t seem to be able to settle on a player who he prefers in that position.”

Doherty could not have done more to impress his manager last night and he continued the scoring form he built up during the friendlies over the World Cup break.
