Janusz Michallik believes that there is a striker who would suit Arsenal even more than both Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen this summer.
The Gunners are absolutely flying right now. Arsenal are very much in the Premier League title fight. And Mikel Arteta’s side appear to have found another gear of late.
Arsenal have won all four of their league games in February, scoring 18 times and conceding two goals. The form of Kai Havertz, in particular, has quietened the debate over whether Arsenal need to sign another goalscorer.
Arsenal would be wise to target Dusan Vlahovic
However, there is no doubt that Mikel Arteta’s squad does lack a prolific striker. Arsenal have been linked with a host of forwards.

Arsenal are admirers of Ivan Toney. Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen has been superb for Napoli. But perhaps there is another name who would suit the Gunners even more.
Speaking to ESPN, Janusz Michallik has suggested that the form of Dusan Vlahovic should catch the eye of Arteta heading into the summer.
“Here’s a team, how many goals have they scored? 25-26 in six games in the Premier League. But they didn’t score in Porto. Maybe it was a one-off. But maybe that one player is missing when Saka and Martinelli are off,” he said.
“That central forward, given the amount of goals they score, you could say is not needed. But, I don’t know, Dusan Vlahovic, to me, fits in that team before maybe Ivan Toney and Osimhen. Some of it is money and some of it is age in those. But I like what I see there. Left-footed player that would fit nicely there.”
Juventus unlikely to let striker leave on the cheap
Vlahovic appears to finding some real form after a difficult few months at Juventus. After scoring twice against Lazio in mid-September, the Serbian would only score once more before the Old Lady’s final game before Christmas.
The 24-year-old has now scored eight goals in his last six games in Serie A.
Juventus did pay around £67 million for Vlahovic. So he is unlikely to come cheap now that he is starting to prove himself in Turin.
But he has now scored 76 goals in 163 games in the Italian top-flight. So he has proven himself as a goalscorer.
Much will depend on how much Arsenal have to spend this summer. But it would be a surprise if he was not on the Gunners’ radar.
