A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to welcome the news that Conor Hazard has signed a new contract at Parkhead.
The 22-year-old, who came through the ranks at Celtic has put pen to paper on a new deal until the summer of 2023.
Hazard made his Bhoys first-team debut earlier this season in the 3-2 Europa League win over Lille.
The Northern Ireland international Hazard then picked up his first medal in December.
He saved two of Hearts’ spot-kicks in the penalty shootout in the delayed 2020 Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park, following a 3-3 draw.
To date, Hazard has made eight competitive senior appearances for the Hoops.
Speaking to the Celtic media team after penning his new contract, his ambition is to get more regular first-team football in green and white.
“You haven’t seen the best of me yet, there’s still a lot more to come,” he said.
“I know I’m 22 years of age and have a lot to learn but I know I have the potential to get there.”
And quite a few Celtic fans were pleased with the news, praising and congratulating Hazard on social media:
Give him the jersey now..
He’s the future, let him find his feet with no pressure on him 💚👌

Should’ve played him in every game left this season to see if he’s worth keeping, we still don’t know if he’s better than Bain

Fully behind him. An extended run in the first team might do him and our defence the world of good. Go and smash it Conor ☘☘☘

Well done Connor – now more important is a run in the team until the end of the season with the pressure off.

Excellent. Every player is inexperienced at a point in time, we need to give him experience that will then benefit the first team. Great potential in the player.

Good for the lad, he will make a reliable back up next season, a number 1 that is capable of making saves is the on field priority number 1 for next season and going forward
