'I like him': Yves Bissouma says he's already become a big fan of 'crazy' Tottenham man
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma only made the switch to North London this summer, but he’s already been left impressed by his new boss Antonio Conte.
The 25-year-old completed his move to Spurs from Brighton back in June and got his first taste of action for the club over the past week.
And Bissouma is clearly enjoying life at the club so far and admitted to the club’s official website that he’s a big fan of Conte.
The midfielder was yet to feature for the Italian in pre-season after returning a positive Covid-19 test during their trip to South Korea. But the former Brighton man is back amongst the action and enjoying life under his new boss.
Bissouma already a big fan of Conte
“I’m very happy to be with him [Conte] at this club because he’s living football and I like that, I like the coach like him,” he said.
“I know he can push the team higher and the players as well. That’s why we’re trying to do what he wants.
“Every training is not easy, but we’re working for that, and I like him because he’s crazy like me.
“Good crazy because he’s crazy about football, and I like how he works, I like how he teaches everyone, and I like his work,” as Football.London transcribed.
Despite Bissouma’s limited first-team action during the summer due to a setback in South Korea, the midfielder has told Football.London he is ready for the upcoming season.
“I feel OK, I’m good, I’m good,” he said.
“Of course [the training sessions are hard], but that’s good. That makes the team stronger and that’s why we train hard.
“We have to follow what the coach wants for the team. I just come in to do the same thing that the midfield did that was there before me. We train to do what the coach wants.”
TBR’s View: Conte can take Bissouma to another level
Bissouma has already impressed during his time in the Premier League after some eye-catching displays under Graham Potter. The midfielder was brilliant under his former boss, but Conte could make him even better.
The Italian has a great track-record with improving his midfielders and has already done the same for his new teammates in Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur.
If Bissouma buys into Conte’s plans, he could become a mainstay in the Spurs midfield for years to come.
