‘I just wonder’…Chris Sutton claims Arsenal might have two players who could be all-time Premier League great

Arsenal cruised to another win in the Premier League this weekend at Brighton and Chris Sutton has been raving about a couple of their players.

The Gunners turned up once again with a big performance to see off Brighton and yet again, keep a clean sheet.

The defensive performances of Arsenal this season have been the cornerstone of their success in the main.

Arsenal have conceded the least goals in the Premier League with just 24, and it looks it could well be the key reason they end up coming out on top.

Of course, key to those solid defensive performances has been the partnership of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

The impressive Arsenal duo have formed one of the most formidable partnerships in Europe and with Declan Rice in front of them, have made the Gunners increasingly hard to play against.

And speaking about the pair, former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has suggested we could be seeing one of the greatest partnerships of all time.

Gabriel and Saliba could be looked back on as Premier League greats

Speaking about both Saliba and Gabriel on the It’s All Kicking Off Podcast, Sutton admitted that as it stands now, the Arsenal duo are laying down a real marker when it comes to leaving a legacy in the Premier League.

“I just wonder in seasons to come, whether we will talk about this partnership of Saliba and Gabriel as one of the great centre-back pairings of the Premier League. Have I gone early with that? I don’t know.

“Do they need to win a league for us to sit there and marvel about just how good they are? I don’t necessarily think they have to really but they have been instrumental really in getting Arsenal to this point and it’s about seeing it through,” Sutton said.

Arsenal paid just £27m each for Gabriel and Saliba and looking on now, it looks like the Gunners have got themselves two big bargains.

With the season drawing to a dramatic conclusion, Arsenal will need their key men to keep stepping up.

Saliba and Gabriel are imperative to any success and you very much get the impression that if they play well, then Arsenal will just about get over the line.
