Eddie Nketiah has really fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal recently.
The striker hasn’t started a league game for Arsenal since the turn of the year, and that’s in spite of the fact Gabriel Jesus has been sidelined with injury recently.
For one reason or another, Mikel Arteta seemingly doesn’t fancy Nketiah at the moment, and there are questions to be asked about his long-term future at the Emirates.
Speaking on the Arseblog Podcast, Charles Watts has been discussing Nketiah’s prospects at Arsenal, and he says that he thinks the 24-year-old is likely to leave the club this summer, especially as he expects Arsenal to ultimately end up signing a new striker.

Eddie Nketiah likely to leave
Watts spoke about the striker and his future.
“I feel this is the summer we will see the end of Eddie Nketiah. I imagine he will go this summer, and this new striker will come in and it will be this new striker and Gabriel Jesus battling it out for the number nine spot,” Watts said.
Shame
It’s a real shame that we’re having to have these conversations about Nketiah.
The striker looked as though he’d really found his feet earlier this season. He was impacting games massively at the start of the campaign, and it looked as though a breakthrough had been made.
However, since that hat-trick against Sheffield United, the goals have dried up for the attacker, and, sadly, he’s now on the chopping block.
The reality is that Arsenal do need a more proven goalscorer leading their line if they are to kick on and reach that next level where they can be considered as genuine contenders for the Champions League and the Premier League on a yearly basis, and if another striker comes in, Nketiah’s best course of action is probably to leave.
