Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has shared why he’ll be really annoyed at Erik ten Hag after today’s win over Everton.
The Red Devils scraped a win thanks to two penalties, both won by Alejandro Garnacho.
However, and in what is a common theme this season, United didn’t play well and actually got lucky in Everton missing so many chances once more.
Manager Erik ten Hag has been bullish in his pressers recently about injuries and other aspects impacting performance.

However, speaking for Premier League Productions, Owen Hargreaves has said that he’ll be annoyed if he hears Ten Hag suggest this was a good performance.
“Definitely wasn’t vintage. Garnacho, couple of penalties, that was it. Everton played really well. They just put a masterclass on of how to waste chances. Clean sheet for Ten Hag – I hope he doesn’t say they played that well,” Hargreaves said.
Ten Hag doesn’t quite annoy Hargreaves in the end
In fairness to the Dutchman, after Hargreaves made these comments, he did suggest things could have been better.
“In areas yes, especially with our attacks and counter-attacks, but we can make better choices to rest on the ball, choosing when to break. We could have scored three or four goals not just the two penalties. We defended quite well, we could have been a bit better in the build-up. We could have been calmer and more composed on the ball. Everton did well and pressed high which gave us lots of chances in behind,” he told the BBC.
Yet again, though, there was hardly an excitement about this United team v Everton.
Indeed, another, better side would have beaten them with ease really today. Yes, Garnacho showed two moments of class to decide the game. But overall, it was pretty dull.
