'I have to say': Hojbjerg says his 25-year-old Tottenham teammate goes absolutely 'crazy' in training sessions
The Dane found the back of the net to open the scoring en route to another victory for Spurs, but the Brazilian did not.
He played well and Hojbjerg told Tottenham’s official website how impressed he has been with Richarlison’s attitude since joining.
Richarlison is one of those players who fans love when he plays for their club but is a pantomime villain for supporters of other teams.
Hojbjerg hails Tottenham teammate Richarlison
He said: “Richy is amazing, I have to say. I am happy that he is playing for Spurs. Training with him; fantastic boy, fantastic mindset, crazy but in a good way.
“He really deserves what comes his way but he has to stay focused and concentrated but well done to him. At the end, I think I put a long, long ball into the corner and he got a throw in.
“I know this is small details and doesn’t make a great or a small player but he is going to change whatever is coming his way. You saw that again today, the way he goes around with the ball, the positioning.
“I’m gutted he didn’t get the goal in the end but it doesn’t take anything away from him or his performance. He still has a lot to learn but we are happy to have him and he needs to keep improving.”
It is surely only a matter of time before Richarlison opens his scoring account in the famous white shirt and with three games a week from now until the World Cup, he will get plenty of chances.
Spurs have finally recruited a top level alternative to Harry Kane and one who can also play in the same side as the England captain.
Tottenham get their Champions League campaign underway against Marseille tomorrow night and it will be intriguing to see if Richarlison, 25, plays.
