Newcastle may need to dip into the transfer market to sign a new goalkeeper.
Nick Pope is out of action for the next few months after dislocating his shoulder, and, with all due respect, Martin Dubravka may not be good enough to sustain a Champions League challenge.
The Magpies may be on the lookout for a new goalie very soon, and according to Ben Foster, speaking on his podcast, one player will already have his eye on a move to St James’ Park.
Indeed, Foster believes that Aaron Ramsdale will already be thinking about joining Newcastle as he continues to struggle for minutes at Arsenal.

Ramsdale will be thinking about Newcastle
Foster shared his verdict on the £30m player.
“I think Aaron Ramsdale would be a perfect fit for Newcastle. I really do. Why would you want to strengthen one of your rivals, but I guarantee you, even this morning Aaron Ramsdale will be thinking ‘that would be a really good move that would. It will be a massive chance to play Premier League football and a massive chance to stay in the England team for the Euros, and if I smash it, you never know. I might even start at the Euros.’” Foster said.
Makes so much sense
It has to be said that this move makes the world of sense.
Ramsdale isn’t getting a game at Arsenal, and Newcastle need a new goalkeeper, it doesn’t take a genius to put two and two together here.
Ramsdale would have a chance to prove himself at a top Premier League club here and earn himself a spot in the England squad, and while Arsenal may not want to strengthen a rival, this could be a decent chance to recoup some cash to reinvest elsewhere in January.
Newcastle need a goalkeeper, and Ramsdale should be on the market this winter, don’t be shocked if this is a move that ultimately goes ahead.
