'I give up with this club': Some Tottenham fans are furious with what Levy is reportedly about to do
According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Blackburn Rovers to sell Dilan Markanday in the coming days.
The 20-year-old is viewed by many as Spurs’ most exciting young talent. He has been at the club since he was a kid and has consistently been the best player in the youth teams over the years.
Only a couple of months ago, Markanday revealed that he wants to stay at Tottenham for 15 more years. Spurs fans were absolutely delighted to hear that, but they are furious with what could happen now.
Markanday looks set to leave Tottenham on a permanent deal in the coming days.
Dilan Markanday set to leave Tottenham for Blackburn soon
Markanday has been tearing it up at youth level for a while now. He has scored 12 goals and provided five assists in just 14 appearances in the Premier League 2 this season, which is an outrageous return.
However, despite his stunning performances, he has not been given regular chances in the senior side. Markanday has played just once for Tottenham’s first team so far. That seems to have convinced him that a move away is the best thing for his career.
Blackburn, who are pushing for promotion in the Championship, have entered talks and if the report is to be believed, Daniel Levy is ready to sanction his sale for an initial fee of just £500,000.
Spurs fans are furious
Many Tottenham fans were convinced that Markanday would be the next big thing at Spurs. He was viewed by many as a star for the future, but they are set to lose him for next to nothing now.
It’s not really the club’s fault either as the report claims that Markanday was offered a new deal. However, Spurs fans are furious that Levy and co have not managed to convince the youngster to commit his future.
