‘I fancy’… Ian Wright has now predicted who will win – Tottenham or Aston Villa

Tottenham face Aston Villa this weekend in what is a massive game for both sides.

Both teams are eyeing a Champions League qualification spot for next season, and this clash could be huge in determining where both teams finish this season.

Spurs have lost two games in a row now and are without three key players for this clash, including James Maddison, while Aston Villa have been brilliant as of late, but not so much away from home.

Speaking on Stick to Football, Ian Wright, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have all had a go at predicting the result of this game, and they’re all in agreement that Tottenham won’t be getting anything from this match.

Spurs not fancied

The pundits gave their verdicts on how this one would pan out.

“That’s a good game that is, Tottenham vs Villa,” Wright said.

“2-1 to Villa, I fancy Villa to get something.”

“Tottenham won’t win that, Tottenham won’t win,” Carragher said.

“We’ll go with 3-1 to Villa,” Neville concluded.

Tough

Tottenham aren’t fancied to win this match, and we can absolutely understand why.

Aston Villa have been in red-hot form as of late, while Spurs have taken a dip and remain without three of their most important players.

Ange Postecoglou has done a fantastic job at Tottenham so far, there’s no doubt about that, but when you lose your two centre-backs and your playmaker all at the same time, you’re going to struggle.

Villa are an incredible attacking outfit, and we have to imagine that they will be able to take advantage of the gaps in this Tottenham side at the moment.

Of course, winning away at Tottenham is much easier said than done, but given both teams’ situations at the moment, we’d have to fancy Villa to get something here.
