'I expressed my feeling': Departed Arsenal man makes astonishing claim

Willian isn’t showing many signs of ending his public spat with Arsenal any time soon and he’s been running his mouth in true WWE style about the Gunners during an interview with Arena SBT.

The former Arsenal man is making Stone Cold Steve Austin’s smack talk look like a friendly debate at a local village hall at the moment! He simply can’t let go of the fact that he endured a torrid time in North London.

The Brazilian spent one season at Arsenal. He was unbelievably poor and managed just one goal during 37 appearances. Willian did claim seven assists, although three of those came in one game.

An ex-Chelsea player, he seemed like a decent free transfer when he checked in from Stamford Bridge. The 33-year-old managed just one year of a three-year arrangement and has now joined Corinthians.

Arsenal will be glad when Corinthians begin playing meaningful matches. At the moment, Willian has lots of his time to stick the boot in on his time at Arsenal.

Now, he’s claimed that it was he that wanted out of the North London-based outfit and not vice versa.

He told Arena BST: “My year at Arsenal was a bit complicated. I really couldn’t adapt to the club. I wasn’t happy there.

“To make it very clear too, it wasn’t the club that wanted me to leave. I wanted to leave the club. I expressed my feeling, and I wasn’t happy. For me, I wanted to leave and find another place to play.”

Willian has some cheek given Arsenal disappointment

The man with 70 caps for Brazil was nothing short of a nightmare during his time at Arsenal. Mikel Arteta tried everything to get a tune out of him but nothing seemed to work.

There did seem a real application issue with the winger and he has some nerve to continue suggesting it was actually his decision to leave the club.

It says it all that by the end of the campaign he had fallen out of favour behind Nicolas Pepe, who was actually showing a desire to prove himself to his boss.

Willian would be wise to concentrate on playing football for his new club. Arsenal have moved on and with some brilliant youngsters now in the team, the Gunners won’t be losing too much sleep over what their former player thinks.
