‘I don’t think’: Danny Murphy says £35m Arsenal player could struggle against Liverpool now

Mohamed Salah can be the difference maker in any game in the Premier League.

The Egyptian has arguably been the most decisive player in England over the past half a decade, and Liverpool will be hoping to get a big performance out of him this weekend against Arsenal.

Speaking on Five, Danny Murphy has been discussing Liverpool’s upcoming clash against the Gunners, and he believes that Salah could run riot against the Gunners, claiming that Oleksandr Zinchenko could really struggle against Salah.

Zinchenko could struggle

Murphy shared his verdict on the £35m and the task he faces this weekend.

“Who’s going to stop Salah? These are the questions, Zinchenko is a terrific footballer, but I don’t think he’s defensively as good as Tomiyasu, but I don’t know if he’s fit or not or if he’ll play,” Murphy said.

Won’t be easy

Zinchenko will be bang up for this game, but he will know that he won’t have an easy task here.

The Ukrainian was given the runaround the last time he played against Liverpool at Anfield last season, with Trent Alexander-Arnold famously showing him up last season.

Salah is unplayable on his day, and while a game against Arsenal won’t be easy, he may well be licking his lips at the idea of playing against Zinchenko this weekend.

Zinchenko is incredible on the ball, but he’s not the fastest or the strongest player in the league, and that makes him a really poor match for Salah’s abilities.

The Egyptian’s combination of pace and strength could leave Zinchenko scrambling.

Gabriel Magalhaes will have to help out a lot down that flank, otherwise Zinchenko could be exposed by Salah if he’s allowed to run at him one on one.

Mikel Arteta will have to come up with a plan to stop Salah, but, as we all know, that’s easier said than done.
