Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has admitted to the BBC his side were ‘scared’ at Old Trafford last night.
Spurs fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Manchester United last night and Conte’s men never seemed to settle into the game.
Hugo Lloris was by far Tottenham’s best player as the captain was forced into making several saves in the first-half.
But the Frenchman was beaten right at the beginning of the second-half as Fred’s deflected shot found its way into the Spurs goal.
Bruno Fernandes secured the three points for United with a brilliant finish just inside the penalty area. But Spurs looked toothless in yet another big away game and Conte has now admitted his side were ‘scared’.

Conte admits Tottenham were ‘scared’
Speaking to the BBC after the game, Conte said: “The approach of the game, we were a bit scared and we showed this.
“I don’t like this. We try together to work because there is only one way.”
Conte switched up his system last night as he brought Yves Bissouma back into the side in a 3-5-2.
Despite the calls for the change of shape, Spurs seemed to be lacking any real threat going forward.
They certainly missed the incisive passing of Dejan Kulusevski last night as they lacked any real purpose going forward.

Spurs’ struggles on the road continue after last night, especially against top six sides. They’ve only beaten Brighton and Nottingham Forest away this season.
Conte’s men fell to defeat at the Emirates and were slightly fortunate to come away with a point at Stamford Bridge at the beginning of the season.
The Italian will certainly have to work on improving his side’s away form if they want to challenge at the top end of the table.
