‘I don’t know why’: Gabriel Jesus really didn’t like what Everton’s £25m man did to him during latest friendly

Gabriel Jesus has spoken about a scuffle with Yerry Mina during Arsenal’s pre-season friendly with Everton.

Jesus and Mina had a coming together during last week’s game, which the Gunners won 2-0 out in America.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Jesus said that he is actually a former teammate of Mina’s from their time together at Brazilian outfit Palmeiras.

They played nine games together back in 2016 there, winning seven and losing just the one but there was no love lost on the pitch.

Jesus comments on Mina incident

“You know what?” he said.

“I have played with Mina before at Palmeiras. We were so close with each other.

“Then, after, I don’t know why he started to attack me. To do something like this on my chest and then talking…

“I don’t know why. I don’t know for what reason. After, I am not a kid any more, I go straight to him as well and after we won the game and that’s all.”

Arsenal need a striker who can handle himself physically and Jesus has good experience of playing in the Premier League for Manchester City now.

Mikel Arteta will hope that Jesus can be the man to fire in the goals which put Arsenal back into the Champions League spots.

Mina is a physical defender, but it seems Jesus stood up to the challenge well and has adapted strongly to life at Arsenal.
