Newcastle fans have been having their say on social media again as their hunt for a new manager took another apparent twist yesterday afternoon.

According to a report from The Telegraph, a deal to bring in Paulo Fonseca is far from completed and it has emerged that Frank Lampard is being pushed forward by some behind the scenes.

The report states that Lampard is being championed by some in PIF and the new consortium thanks to his big name. It is thought hiring someone like Lampard could help attract a higher calibre of player to the club. Lampard, 43, is just one of a number of names being linked lately.

However, it doesn’t seem Newcastle fans are overly impressed with the idea of Frank Lampard taking over. At least, that’s the impression you get from social media and Twitter, in particular.

The consensus among Newcastle fans seems to be that Lampard, despite being a top player, isn’t quite the right man for the job right now. The Toon Army apparently want a more experienced man at the helm.
