‘I can’t believe this’… Chris Sutton stunned by what he’s heard about Man City vs Arsenal now

Arsenal and Manchester City will face off in a few weeks in one of the biggest games of the season.

The Premier League title race is heating up and tensions are running high amongst fans of Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Indeed, supporters are getting worked up and stressed about the title race, and, as you can imagine, some of the recent football phone-in shows have been remarkable to listen to.

Chris Sutton has been speaking to a number of fans on BBC 606, and there was one running trend throughout his recent show.

Indeed, fans continuously called in tipping Arsenal to beat Manchester City not only in a few weeks’ time, but also in the Champions League.

Sutton was bemused by these predictions, claiming that he couldn’t believe what he was hearing about these two sides.

Sutton had a number of conversations about these games.

“I think Arsenal will beat City. I think they’re the best side in the league, they will go on to win the league, and I think if they get them over two legs in the Champions League as well,” One caller said.

“That is amazing,” Sutton said.

“The thing is, I love that call. He’s a Liverpool fan and he acknowledges how good Arsenal are. You watch the game and how Arsenal are performing, you can see Arsenal winning it can’t you. But you can see Liverpool winning it and City always win it,” Sutton said.

Another fan then called and made a similar point about fearing Arsenal if they played in the Champions League.

“So if you get Arsenal in the final, that’s you. Had it? You’re scared of Arsenal? Where has this come from. I can’t believe this. You’ve been so dominant and now you don’t want to play Arsenal in the competition?

It’s strange to hear Man City and Arsenal spoken about in this way.

For the longest time, City have been able to dominate Arsenal in almost every game they’ve played, but that gap is closing at a rapid rate and there are some that believe Arsenal are now better than City.

Of course, whether or not these predictions ring true in a few weeks’ time remains to be seen, but it’s clear that fans across the country are becoming more and more afraid of this Arsenal team.
