Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was shocked to hear one crazy statistic after his side beat Norwich City in the FA Cup last night.

It has really been a different season for the Reds. Klopp usually just prioritises the Premier League and Champions League. Pep Lijnders is the man for the domestic cup competitions and he helped Liverpool pick up the Carabao Cup just a few days ago.

Now, the Reds are into the quarter-final of the FA Cup, which isn’t really a huge achievement at first glance, but when you take a deeper look, it will surprise you.

Liverpool have never reached this stage of the competition since Klopp was appointed as their manager. Can’t believe that? Jurgen couldn’t either!

The German admitted he just can’t believe that his side were in the quarter-final for the first time under him.

Asked about the feat, Klopp told LFCTV GO: “I hear that now and I can’t believe that to be honest. It shows how difficult it is to get there.

“We did it tonight, it’s really cool. Making 10 changes and having a massive emotional high just three days ago and make yourself ready for this kind of fight is tricky.

“It was a bit tighter than it should’ve been in the end. All good, feels good, next round, let’s carry on.”

It’s a shock to us as well that Liverpool have never reached the quarter-final of the FA Cup under Klopp.

The German has won everything other than the oldest cup competition in history and now that he’s a step closer, he’d love to go all the way and lift the FA Cup as well at the end of the season.

Following their Carabao Cup win last weekend, Liverpool still stand a chance to win the quadruple this season.

It definitely won’t be easy, but Klopp will fancy his side to go all the way in all three competitions that they are currently in.
