Tottenham may need to bolster their midfield in January.
The north London club are set to lose Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma to the African Cup of Nations for a period in the winter, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has also been linked with a move away from the club.
Spurs may well need a new midfielder in January, and, luckily, it sounds like help could be on the way.
Speaking on The Redmen TV Podcast, Emmanuel Luiz has been discussing some of the top talents in South America, and he’s named Spurs as a potential destination for young Federico Redondo.

Spurs could go for Redondo
Luiz shared what he knows about the 20-year-old.
“What I can tell you right now, there is a guy here in Latin America called Federico Redondo, he is from Argentina Juniors, Fluminense are looking at him to be the replacement of Andre, but clubs in the big six are looking for Redondo to buy him right now or loan him.” Luiz said.
“Clubs like Fulham, Wolverhampton are looking to get him right now, clubs like Liverpool and Tottenham, teams in the big six, I don’t know which other teams from the big six are looking at him too.”
Unsurprising
It’s not surprising to hear that Spurs are looking at Redondo. After all, they do have an eye on the Argentine leagues.
Alejo Veliz was signed from South America just this summer, and it looks as though Tottenham, like many other Premier League clubs are looking to expand and pick out the gems from those underutilised leagues after Brexit began to affect incoming transfers from Europe.
Spurs clearly have an eye on Argentina, and with the likes of Cristian Romero, Veliz and Giovani Lo Celso already at the club, it shouldn’t be difficult for Redondo to settle in north London if he does come in.
