Mikel Arteta has brought in some excellent players so far this window as he continues to bolster his young Arsenal squad.

Vieira makes prediction about Arsenal

Speaking to Sky Sports News during a press conference today, Vieira said that he thinks Arteta’s squad has improved massively from last season

“I think they are in a better place than they were last year,” he said.

“I think when you’re looking at the new players that they have brought into the squad and team, they are much stronger.

“So, I believe that they have the squad to challenge to be closer to the title.”

Arsenal fans will certainly be excited ahead of the new Premier League season after a proactive summer window.

The club have brought in five new players before the beginning of the new season and Arteta’s men have looked excellent during pre-season.

The Gunners have put in some impressive performances and even beat London rivals Chelsea 4-0 during their tour of the United States.

Vieira is clearly backing his old team to achieve big things this season and will face-off against them in the first Premier League game tomorrow night.

Last season, Palace beat Arsenal 3-0 at Selhurst Park and the Frenchman will be hoping to get off to a strong start, even if it’s at the expense of his old club.
