Fikayo Tomori will have had lots of brilliant role models growing up at Chelsea.
The likes of John Terry, Ashley Cole and Ricardo Carvalho will have been fantastic potential mentors for Tomori as he was coming up through the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to England’s official website, Tomori has named his favourite Three Lions XI of all-time, and while the likes of Terry and Cole got a shoutout, so did another former Chelsea defender.
Indeed, Tomori says that Glen Johnson was actually a player he always liked growing up at Chelsea claiming that while he left at a young age, he was always a fan of Johnson’s

The defender spoke about Glen Johnson and his time at Chelsea.
“I am going to try to stay away from current players with this team and this position is a tough one. I will go Glen Johnson. He left Chelsea when I was really young but I always liked him as a player,” Tomori said.
What a team
Tomori was very lucky to be a youngster at Chelsea during this period.
Yes, Tomori will have only been a child during this time, but the fact that he was in the academy at a time when there were so many fantastic defensive players to look up to and aspire to be like will have played a huge part in his development and drive at the time.
Tomori has, of course, made it to the top. He’s a Serie A winner with one of the biggest clubs in the world, and he’s a regular for England too.
Johnson would ultimately leave Chelsea for Portsmouth for just £4m, but he made his way back to the top level with Liverpool where he reclaimed his England spot and became one of the top full-backs in the country.
