Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has been praised by Tim Sherwood for making the decision to sack Jose Mourinho and not beating around the bush.
Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs in November 2019, leading the north Londoners to a sixth-placed finish in his debut season in charge.
However, Tottenham have struggled this season, currently five points adrift of the Champions League places, and suffered an embarrassing Europa League exit to Dinamo Zagreb in March.

Mourinho and coaches Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra were all “relieved of their duties” on Monday, with Ryan Mason taking charge of training in the afternoon.
“I’m a little bit shocked at the timing but if Daniel Levy decides he needs to make a change, that’s what he does,” Sherwood said on Premier League Today on Optus Sport after the news broke.
“I remember his first act as chairman, when I was a player, in the week leading up to a FA Cup semi-final, against Arsenal, he decided to sack George Graham and bring in Glenn Hoddle.
“I admire him for making the decision. He doesn’t beat around the bush. Obviously Jose is having a bad time of it. 2-0 lead going to Zagreb was the straw that broke the camel’s back.”
Mourinho leaves Tottenham with a 51 percent win rate, and has lost 10 league matches in the same season for the first time in his career.
This term, no Premier League side has lost more points from winning positions than Spurs, who have dropped 20.
