Illan Meslier makes his first league start for Leeds United as they take on Hull City looking to strengthen their grip on a top two spot in the Championship. Meanwhile, Kalvin Phillips returns for the visitors.
The biggest news concerning the Whites ahead of the game was obviously surrounding Kiko Casilla. The Spaniard will begin an eight-game ban on Saturday.
That means Meslier comes in for his league start for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. The summer signing made his debut against Arsenal in the FA Cup in January.
And it was a performance that left plenty of Leeds fans asking for the youngster to be given more opportunities during Casilla’s recent dip in form. He now has his chance.
Kalvin Phillips does return to the starting lineup after missing Wednesday’s win over Middlesbrough. Gaetano Berardi drops down to the bench.
Elsewhere, Jean-Kevin Augustin remains sidelined with injury having missed the victory over Boro. So Patrick Bamford keeps his place for the visitors as he looks to end a run of six games without a goal.
For Hull, former Whites youngster Mallik Wilks returns to Grant McCann’s side. The forward missed the midweek defeat to Barnsley as he is on loan from the Tykes. He has scored three goals in his last four appearances for the Tigers.
