‘It’s difficult to explain’: Hugo Lloris says Tottenham are doing something in training that nobody sees

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has praised the training methods of Antonio Conte but admitted it is difficult to explain what is happening behind closed doors at the club.

Lloris has once again been the number one choice at Spurs under Antonio Conte. The Frenchman has fully justified that selection too, as have a number of other Tottenham players. One of which, as we all know, is Harry Kane.

Kane has been in fine form recently, scoring seven in his past six Premier League games and keeping Spurs well in the hunt for the top four despite their inconsistent results. And Lloris, speaking to Football.London, has claimed that the method of Tottenham training is helping to get the best from Kane.

“It is difficult to explain. The doors are closed at the training ground and you can not see the way we train. The repetition of movements help the team to create chances and obviously Harry is a huge player for us,” Lloris said.

“We all know his importance and probably when he is at his best, he gives more chances for the team to win, but again, it is not only about Harry, it is about everyone to keep improving individually and also for the team, and to push, to push every day and be ready to face all the teams we will face.”

The fact the captain is bringing it up makes it all the better, but is clear that Spurs’ players are really invested into the way Antonio Conte is taking this team.

Training is, as we know, a key element to success. And if that’s getting the best from Kane and others, then Conte is doing his job very well indeed.

Time will tell, of course. But there is a sense that Tottenham can have success with Conte in charge, and Lloris has hinted at just why here.
