Report: 'Fantastic' Tottenham player has just suffered a cruel injury blow on int'l duty
Tottenham are sweating on the fitness of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after the French stopper was injured ahead of international duty.
Lloris has been integral once again for Spurs this season. His form has been superb in the sticks and under Antonio Conte, he seems to have found a new lease of life after once looking like he might end up leaving the club.
However, while things are going swimmingly for Lloris and Tottenham, Football London reports how Lloris has actually pulled out of the French squad with a thigh injury. The French stopper has been replaced in the squad by Didier Deschamps and now Spurs must wait to assess the damage.
Of course, Lloris will now be a worry for the North London derby when the break is over and done with. Lloris will be desperate to play and Conte will also be hoping his main man is fit. Recently lauded as being a ‘fantastic’ player by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Lloris has cemented himself as a Spurs legend forever thanks to his performances for the club.
Given the club’s fine start to the season, losing Lloris for any period of time would be a bitter blow to proceedings.
TBR’s View: Lloris Hopefully Pulled Out As Precaution
It doesn’t appear to be too serious with what we know so far but you just never know in football. Lloris will be hoping this is a bit of nothing and that in the space of a few weeks, he can comfortably see it off.
Certainly, for Tottenham and France, Lloris being available is massive. He is one of the very best goalkeepers in the world and is more than proving his worth for Spurs this term.
Spurs fans, then, will be keeping a close eye on reports in the coming week to see just how Lloris is faring and if there’s any further diagnosis.
