Newcastle United reached their first cup semi-final in 18 years last night with a 2-0 victory over Leicester City.
Goals from Dan Burn and Joelinton earned Eddie Howe’s side a much-deserved victory at St. James’ Park.
Howe spoke to Sky Sports after the match, and was very pleased with his side’s performance.
Newcastle were once again brilliant last night, dominating proceedings against an injury-ravaged Leicester side.
They could have been several goals to the good before the half-time break, but couldn’t put away their chances.
Newcastle fans will be anxiously waiting for the semi-final draw this evening.

Manchester United and potentially Manchester City could be in the hat, but Howe may be hoping they end up drawing each other.
Howe admitted after the match that he was so impressed with Bruno Guimaraes last night.
It’s no surprise that the Brazilian was once again the centre of attention.
The 25-year-old has been simply outstanding ever since signing for Newcastle, and is already a fan favourite.
Howe seriously impressed by Guimaraes
Speaking to Sky Sports, Howe was waxing lyrical about the Brazilian midfielder: “He’s a hugely important player for us.
“He’s an unbelievable technician, he takes the ball anywhere, but he also has a real grit and determination off the ball as well.
“He’s been a real game changer for us.”
Guimaraes came close to getting on the score sheet himself with a couple of powerful long-range efforts.
They comfortably beat Danny Ward in goal, but flew just wide of the post.
Several rival clubs had doubts about Guimaraes when Newcastle signed him 12 months ago.

They’ve been quickly proved wrong, and Howe will be very glad they didn’t make more of an effort to sign the impressive Guimaraes.
He’s returned from the World Cup looking refreshed, even if he didn’t play as many minutes as some of his teammates thought he should.
The Magpies welcome another surprise package Fulham to St. James’ Park on Sunday.
They’ll be full of confidence going into the game and hoping to maintain their place in the top four of the Premier League.
