‘Huge’: Pundit says 27-year-old Tottenham player has made Heung-Min Son even better

Tottenham Hotspur at full strength may be one of the best teams in the Premier League this season.

Spurs started this campaign with an incredible winning run before their season was partially derailed by an injury and suspension crisis that started against Chelsea.

Spurs have been hit and miss since, but we mustn’t forget just how good Ange Postecoglou’s side were in the early knockings of this campaign.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen him play, but James Maddison proved to be an utterly transformative signing for Tottenham in the opening months of the season, and speaking on Premier League Productions, Glenn Murray has singled him out for a bit of special praise.

Indeed, Murray says that Maddison is a huge player for Tottenham, claiming that the 27-year-old actually brings out the best of Heung-Min Son.

Maddison has made Son better

Murray spoke about the midfielder and his impact.

“Without doubt, a new manager after losing the best nine in the world, and he’s in a better position than they were last year. He’s been a revelation for me Postecoglou. Maddison is huge for me, he brings out the best in Son he’s a great caveat to him,” Murray said.

Replaced Kane

Of course, Tottenham haven’t replaced Harry Kane’s goals in this team quite yet, but Maddison has replaced his creativity with such ease.

For so many years, Son’s craft was based around getting on the end of those fantastic through balls that Kane used to play, and now, he’s doing the same with Maddison.

The difference is that Son no longer has to share the scoring load with someone like Kane, so with Maddison in behind him the South Korean can feast on chance after chance in this Tottenham team.

Maddison is still injured and Son is away on international duty, but we can’t wait to see these two back on the same pitch once again.
