Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno has told Football London that Dele Alli impressed him with his work ethic in the final moments against Wolves.
Working hard
Alli has trained hard over pre-season and his high level of fitness was on display yesterday.
As Tottenham saw out their victory against Wolves, Alli was harassing and harrying opposition players right up until the last moments.
And Alli’s relentless pressing really caught the eye of Nuno, who said after the game: “He’s working very hard. I think all the team is working hard.
“We still have a long way to go and are working very hard to improve, the relationship between players and being very versatile enough.
“Dele did a very good job and he worked very hard. He scored in the beginning of the game and in the last minutes of the game he was running all over the pitch so that shows the level of fitness that he has and the belief that he has. A huge, huge help.”
New role
For Alli his new role is rather different to the one which he has generally played throughout his career.

Alli has usually been used as a goalscoring midfielder, but he is now having to contribute much more in a defensive sense.
The England international has been given a deep midfield role under Nuno, and he has impressed to date.
There are real signs that Alli could be set for an impressive season at Spurs, and after opening his goalscoring account yesterday, his confidence should be sky high.
