Huge confidence boost for Wolves forward Diogo Jota on international duty

Wolverhampton Wanderers have certainly struggled to get the best out of Portuguese forward Diogo Jota this season. Last season the talented attacker was a star for Wolves in their promotion campaign. He scored 18 goals and bagged six assists with Wolves making a loan deal permanent last January for a reported £12.3 million, as reported by MARCA.

This season has been more of a struggle for the 21-year-old. He has provided no assists and scored no goals in his 12 games for the club. It has seen him lose his starting spot for Wolves’ last three Premier League games.

What he needed was a massive confidence boost. Last night, he hopefully got just that.

He netted for Portugal’s under-21s yesterday in a shock 3-1 loss at home to Poland. It was not his first goal during the current international break. He also scored in the 1-0 win over Poland last week.

The two goals will hopefully be a huge boost to the confidence of the Wolves man, who has clearly struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League. If he can now bring that form to Molineux then Wolves will surely be in a stronger position.
