Arsenal continued their winning streak across all competitions by registering another huge victory, this time against Slavia Prague in the Champions League.
The Gunners have been on an impressive run that now spans ten games, ensuring they can progress in the Premier League, Champions League and Carabao Cup.
A Mikel Merino brace followed Bukayo Saka’s opener from the penalty spot, ensuring Arsenal earned all three points against Slavia Prague.
While three goals and three points in the Champions League were the main aim for the North London side, there was one other incentive on the night.
It surrounded Arsenal’s defensive side of the game, with a new record set that saw plenty of celebration.

Pat Nevin praises Arsenal’s desire for defending
There were several new records set for Arsenal in a historic night in Prague.
Bukayo Saka scored in four consecutive Champions League away matches, becoming the first to do so in the club’s history.
Max Dowman became the youngest player in Champions League history when making his appearance from the bench, aged just 15.
Then there was a clean sheet record, a run of eight games without conceding that saw the Gunners smash their previous record of seven set back in 1903.
It has been those foundations which have set Arsenal up for success, and it was proven by their desire to defend.
Former Chelsea star Pat Nevin described the scenes at full-time, which summed the Gunners up to a tee.
Speaking on Football Daily’s UCL Debrief, he said: “But Gabriel and Saliba, they live for defending, they live for clean sheets.
“And I kind of suspect they turn around and look at Raya as well, because he’s a big part of it. But honestly, the way they celebrated and looked at each other as if ‘this is what we do, this is what we live for.’ Boy, they do it well.
“And you know, right from the start, they were asked a couple of interesting questions from the big centre forward early on, and they just never flinched at any point in time. They just didn’t look under any danger.”
It was a record-breaking night for Arsenal summed up by their stars at the back.
Now, they will be looking to extend that run with a clash against Sunderland coming up before the international break.

Mikel Arteta discusses Arsenal’s clean sheet record
Arteta has worked hard to get the Arsenal defence in the right place, before adding the attacking options within his team.
With a clean sheet record broken, the manager discussed just how proud he was of his team.
He told the press: “That’s a long time ago so it tells you about the difficulty of achieving it.
“There is a lot of work there, obviously, to achieve that, and the most pleasing thing, probably, is not the record; it’s the mindset of the players.
“They are talking about how we can still do better, we see one or two situations that we could have resolved better. So, if we do that we can keep improving and that record will have a bigger meaning.”
At some point, Arsenal will concede a goal again, but the players are determined to make sure it isn’t going to be any time soon.
