Meanwhile, Pedro was one who provided some bright sparks for the Blues last season and the Spaniard definitely has the energy and experience to appeal to Conte.

However, with a full back occupying one of the wings and the other by Willian, the 28-year-old may find himself on the bench more frequently next season.

Conte has much to ponder as he approaches his first day at Chelsea Football Club and although he has enough talent in the squad to score goals, some more stability in his back three should be his next priority.
