The biggest question of the Premier League season has been answered this morning as BBC Sport reports that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to sign a two-year extension at the Emirates.
The Frenchman – who first joined the Gunners back in 1996 – met with Arsenal chairman Stan Kroenke on Monday to discuss his future and an agreement has been made to extend his current deal.
Speculation had been growing all season – dividing Arsenal fans and starting a large spread ‘Wenger Out’ movement – but a spell of uncertainty has come to an end with the announcement that he will remain.
For the first time in 21 years Wenger failed to secure a top-four finish and Champions League football for next season, finishing fifth on a dramatic final day despite beating Everton at home.
Winning the FA Cup against arch-rivals Chelsea last weekend did at least give the Arsenal fans something to smile about after a disappointing season, but fans of the Gunners still remain divided over Wenger.

Either way, it will no doubt make for an interesting atmosphere around the Emirates next season if Arsenal continue their recent failure to challenge with their rivals for the Premier League title.
