It’s the time of the season where clubs launch their merchandise ahead of the upcoming campaign and after Chelsea and Liverpool released their kits, it was Manchester United’s turn to show off their new attire.
Using Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba to their full marketing potential, Adidas opted for a new collar and sleeve design on this season’s United kit.
The sports brand are in their second year as the Red Devils’ shirt sponsor and, after creating an impressive jersey last season, Adidas have arguably improved on their first creation.
The three stripes on the shoulder are a striking feature while the buttoned collar completes a tidy look. Chevrolet continue to feature on the shirt and their golden logo only adds to the appeal.
The players donned the shirt for the first time with Juan Mata and new signing Victor Lindelof key parts of Adidas’ advertising. Wayne Rooney’s feature on the campaign may give a hint about his future, but today is not about him.
New kits always get people talking on social media and here’s how Twitter reacted:
The majority were big fans…

Yet, not everyone was blown away…
Manchester United need to explain to me the difficulty in making a decent looking football kit.

They really need to change it up. This plain old look every year needs changed. Love ManU just not a fan of the Red jersey every year
