How Twitter reacted to Chelsea being offered Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

After missing out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United, Chelsea have been dealt some good news this window. The Blues have been offered the chance to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for £70 million, according to Sky Sports.

The report suggests that Antonio Conte is keen on improving his attacking line after telling Diego Costa he has no future with the club. With the Spaniard out in the cold, Chelsea’s only striker is Michy Batshuayi, who played a bit-part role in their Premier League title win last season.

Aubameyang would arrive at Stamford Bridge as significant upgrade to Batshuayi, while he would offer Chelsea a different attacking threat to Costa. The Gabon international is one of the fastest players in the game and his signing would make the Blues even more potent on the counter attack.

However, if Chelsea are to sign the Dortmund striker, who scored 42 times overall last season, they need to act fast. The Sky Sports report suggests AC Milan have entered talks with the player, while Paris Saint Germain are keeping an eye on the situation. The Milan side have already had Aubameyang on their books once as a youth player, yet he failed to make the grade in Italy.

With stories leaking that Chelsea have the opportunity to sign the Gabonese man, here’s what Twitter thought of the news:
