After Kyle Walker’s departure to Manchester City was confirmed at the back end of last week, Tottenham’s official website announced this afternoon that Kieran Trippier has signed a new deal.

It is understood that the 26-year-old right-back – who was signed from fellow top-flight outfit Burnley for £3.5 million in 2015 – has penned an extension that will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2022.

Trippier put in a string of impressive performances during the second-half of last season, being selected ahead of Walker for the north London derby and FA Cup semi-final clash against Chelsea.

He made 12 Premier League appearances for Tottenham last season, contributing five assists – resulting in his debut England call-up against France – and he looks set to be the first-choice right-back this year.

It was Tottenham who took to social media first to announce the news…

With former side Burnley offering their congratulations…
