It may have been long overdue but Tottenham finally announced their first official signing of the summer transfer window on Wednesday, with Southampton goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga arriving.
The 25-year-old has endured a frustrating career since arriving at St Mary’s on a four-year deal in 2012, only featuring 23 times across four seasons, and he spent last year on-loan at Rayo Vallecano.
Despite it being likely that Gazzaniga will be utilised as a back-up to current ‘keeper Hugo Lloris, rather than as competition, Mauricio Pochettino has a lot of admiration for his fellow Argentine.
The former Valencia man has signed on a five-year deal that will see him at the club until 2022.
