On the right of a three man defence, he looked comfortable for most of the game but was troubled at times by Eden Hazard and Diego Costa’s movement.

Dealt with the physical presence of Diego Costa well and kept the Spaniard under control in the middle of the back three. Led the back line throughout and supported his two partners when needed.

Jan Vertonghen – 6

Calm and collected throughout, he dealt with Pedro well but was rarely tested to his limits.
