Eric Dier – The Englishman was okay and did well at organising the defence after Toby Alderweireld was withdrawn with an injury. He is slowly growing at centre back in terms of positioning, while his distribution was excellent throughout the game. 7
Toby Alderweireld – He showed his quality with one or two excellent pieces of defending and it was a blow when he had to be withdrawn with an injury. Spurs will be hoping it isn’t too serious as they will struggle to cope with both Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen being injured at the same time. 6
Kevin Wimmer – It was a disappointing performance for the Austrian as he was targeted by the Manchester City attackers. He came up against a firing opposition, but he didn’t do enough to impress Mauricio Pochettino and was substituted at half-time. He should get some more first team opportunities in the coming weeks given the injuries that Spurs now have at the back. 5
Kyle Walker – The cross for the first goal was incredible and highlighted the quality that he possesses in the final third. Spurs’ full backs are their best outlet in attack and it was great to see him perform in such a big game. That said, he was lucky not to be sent off late on as a blatant push on Raheem Sterling wasn’t punished by the officials. 7
