Kieran Trippier – 6

Provided an outlet down the right but faded as the game went on and especially after switching sides. Defended well but wasn’t massively challenged.

Toby Alderweireld – 6

Made a couple of blocks and tackles which were important but conceded the free-kick which opened the scoring and couldn’t stop Eden Hazard. Not his best day in a Spurs shirt.

Eric Dier – 6

Continued to look out of position in central defence, Dier was quiet and struggled to stamp his influence on the game. The harshest of critics could question why he didn’t block Eden Hazard’s shot as it past his feet.

Jan Vertonghen – 7

Not much support from Son in front of him but Vertonghen did well when forced out wide and was solid defensively. Pedro and Willian were both handled comfortably by the Belgian.
