How Tottenham’s players rated in their comeback victory over Southampton

Mousa Dembele – 7

Perhaps harshly booked for a foul on Nathan Redmond, but Dembele was his usual all action self and broke up play well in midfield and helped Spurs to win the midfield battle from the moment they equalised.

Victor Wanyama – 6

Conceded the free-kick which led to the opening goal for Southampton in the opening two minutes and never really recovered as he seemed to struggle with the pressure of returning to his former club.

Moussa Sissoko – 8

Arguably his best game in a Tottenham shirt, his deflected cross was what led to Dele Alli drawing his team back level to tie the game. The Frenchman was full of power and energy running at the Southampton defence.

Dele Alli – 9

A man of the match display and his best performance of the season, the ex-MK Dons midfielder did fantastically well to beat Virgil Van Dijk in the air to equalise before adding a cool and composed second to seal the victory in the dying moments.

Christian Eriksen – 7

Was lively throughout and didn’t give the Saints a moment of peace, but some of his shooting from distance was wasteful and lost possession when it could be ill afforded in the first half.
