Ben Davies – Came in for the injured Danny Rose and looked at home on the left-hand side of the Spurs defence. Found himself drifting into a defensive midfield position whenever Tottenham attacked and made a few neat passes to set Eriksen on his way. 7.
Eric Dier – Had very little to deal with as Middlesbrough barely posed a threat going forward. Slipped once and nearly let Negredo in, but other than that could have taken the day off. 6.
Toby Alderweireld – Had a relatively quiet match as Tottenham dominated possession in midfield, but came close to giving Spurs the lead when his front-post header clipped the woodwork. 6.
Kyle Walker – Had more attacking influence with Tottenham attacks as a result of Rose not being in the side, and had another good performance to add to his tally this season. Was utilised a lot because of Middlesbrough’s narrow approach in the first half. 7.
