How Tottenham rated as they crashed out of Europe at the hands of Gent

Christian Eriksen – Has been the personification of composure in this Tottenham side all season so it was no surprise that he got his side off to a flyer with a lovely finish into the corner. Had to take on the role of the creator once Alli was sent off, and set up Wanyama with a deft flick. 8.

Dele Alli – Nearly got on the end of a quick corner as Spurs looked to regain the lead on the night, but he completely lost his cool in an awful late high-tackle before half-time to earn himself a dismissal. Was his first ever red card, eventually costing his side their European status this season. 3.

Harry Kane – Left his side with a huge task on their hands after scoring at the wrong end, and despite all of his endeavours afterwards he missed a string of chances to bring his side back into the tie. Became increasingly frustrated as the game went on, and it clearly impacted his ability to finish. 6.

Heung-Min Son – Came on for the final half an hour as his side peppered the Gent goal with attack after attack and delivered a tantalising ball across the six-yard box that just about managed to evade everyone. Carried the ball well in the final third, and could have had a penalty, but to no avail. 7.

Harry Winks – Given the final 20 minutes as Pochettino urged his side forward but found it hard to force a way through the Gent defence, just like the rest of his Spurs teammates. 5.
