Ben Davies – Still looked to be suffering from a lack of confidence after his torrid time against Liverpool a fortnight ago, and most of Gent’s attacks started on his side of the field. Didn’t provide much of an impact going forward either, and Spurs will be thinking Rose can’t return soon enough. 5.
Victor Wanyama – Could have had a simple tap-in and a rare Tottenham goal if he had anticipated Eriksen’s first-half corner, missing the ball by inches, but he made no mistake second time round with a delightful finish into the top corner to give his side hope. Gave his all. 8.
Mousa Dembele – Helped turn possession over quickly in the middle of the park and set Tottenham on the attack again, working the ball out wide to Walker frequently. Couldn’t provide any real impetus going forward though and was hauled off for Winks with just over 20 minutes to go. 6.
Kyle Walker – Used his attacking freedom to excellent use against Gent, finding space surprisingly easy and fizzing dangerous balls into the box with good regularity. Caused far more problems than Davies on the opposite flank, and was easily Spurs’ best player on the Wembley pitch. 9.
