Antonio Valencia – The Ecuador international has become a natural at right back and he has the perfect combination of defensive know-how and attacking threat. He always offers a good option down the right hand side and he was a threat this evening, providing the cross for the equaliser. 7

Phil Jones – He wasn’t as convincing as his defensive partner and looked vulnerable whenever Liverpool players ran at him. The Liverpool goal was partly his fault as he was easily bullied off the ball in the build-up to the corner being awarded. However, he did make a few crucial blocks to prevent Liverpool from getting a second. 6

Marcos Rojo – The Argentine has completely changed the image that people have of him under Jose Mourinho. He was excellent this evening and did everything that was asked of him. Rojo was cool in possession and used his aggression in the right way to win possession back on several occasions. 7

Matteo Darmian – The Italian was solid at left back and delivered a good performance. He did well defensively and offered a good option when Manchester United were in possession. 6
