Stoke City didn’t manage to get anything from their match at Anfield as they fell to a 4-1 defeat against Liverpool. Although they managed to take an early lead through Jonathan Walters, it never looked likely that they would hold on. They were set up in a 3-5-2 with Peter Crouch and Walters leading the line, two players with their best years behind them.
