James Ward-Prowse – 7

Beautiful assist from a set piece to allow Van Dijk to open the scoring, he was busy throughout and did not forget his defensive duties as well as his attacking power with drive bursting through the middle.

Oriol Romeu – 6

A disciplined display, it would be harsh to criticise Romeu as he did his job well but he was simply overwhelmed in numbers as Spurs got forward on the counter attack.

Steven Davis – 7

Looked to get the Saints playing and getting the ball forward, he failed to produce any threat in the final third but tried to do the right things with good effect.
