How Rodrygo reacted when asked if he will leave Real Madrid for Arsenal this summer as footage emerges

Arsenal are close to signing Noni Madueke from Chelsea, but interest in Real Madrid No.11 Rodrygo remains.

TBR Football understand Arsenal have been speaking to the representatives of Rodrygo amid doubts over his future at the Santiago Bernabeu – Xabi Alonso gave the Brazilian just 92 minutes of action at the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Spaniard seemingly prefers a different profile, with Arda Guler fielded over the South American.

During some downtime after PSG knocked Los Blancos out of the FIFA Club World Cup, Rodrygo went for a stroll around Times Square, where one fan asked if he is going to swap Real Madrid for Arsenal this summer.

Rodrygo in dismissive mood as Arsenal question put forward

An account by the name of @the_bros2 on TikTok was fortunate enough to meet the Brazil international in the United States, and took the opportunity to ask whether a move to Arsenal was happening.

As you can see, Rodrygo barely reacted, and seemed quite dismissive of the question – if not annoyed – as he swiftly moved on to an interaction with another fan, before walking away.

In truth, it is entirely possible that this entire situation is frustrating the 24-year-old a fair bit.

Rodrygo previously named Real Madrid as his dream club, so the fact Alonso – who said he is “better off” using other attackers – has suddenly begun to phase him out of the starting XI may well be causing him some real distress.

Arsenal joined by fierce competitors in battle to sign Rodrygo

The Gunners will not have a clear run at this deal if Real Madrid decide to put the man from Osasco up for sale.

AS in Spain state that Liverpool have now joined the race to sign Rodrygo as Arne Slot aims to freshen up his attack further, following the addition of Florian Wirtz.

Furthermore, Manchester City have held talks over Rodrygo as well as Arsenal, so Andrea Berta – Director of Football at the Emirates Stadium – will have to be convincing if he is to successfully fend off Arsenal’s Premier League rivals.
