Heading into the final hours of the transfer window, Chelsea still have work to do.
After a summer of searching, the Blues still don’t have a new striker through the door.
However, there are still a number of options on the market.
Victor Osimhen has been strongly linked with Chelsea recently, and according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on the London is Blue Podcast, the Blues are ready to pay Osimhen massive money.
Of course, this comes after Osimhen was recently linked with Arsenal.
Chelsea ready to pay Victor Osimhen massive money
Jacobs shared what he knows about Chelsea and the ‘world class’ forward.
“People are wrongly assuming that somehow Chelsea won’t pay £250k-a-week or more and Victor Osimhen wants that number,” Jacobs said.
“My understanding is that if Osimhen wanted over £250k-a-week it would be under consideration from Chelsea. They’re not capping what he can earn, they’re saying you have to earn it on the field.
“So in a permanent deal, they may say, using that £250,000 number as a base, all new signings have a UCL reduction of 20 or 25%, so your £250,000 goes to £200,000 a week and then they may say we need you to come down more unless you score 10 goals or if the team finish in the top half or if they qualify for Europe, but if X, Y or Z happen they could hypothetically end up paying £300,000 a week.”

Victor Osimhen to Chelsea makes sense
There hasn’t been a lot about Chelsea’s transfer business in recent times that has made sense, but a late move for Osimhen is logical.
Chelsea still need a striker, Osimhen needs a move, and he’s been open about his admiration for Chelsea for a while.
Arsenal are keen, but it doesn’t appear as though an offer for the Gunners is forthcoming, and it would be a massive shame if another player of this ability ended up in Saudi Arabia.
This could be a deal that gets done before the deadline.
